OpenStreetMap data can now be imported into TdhGISnet, a free,
multi-platform program for finding the shortest path between any number of
points. By specifying the tags for the OSM ways to be imported, the user
can select roads, walkways, rails or any other path data contained in OSM.
The Longitude-Latitude coordinates used in OSM can be converted to
Cartesian coordinates using the Proj4 library or used directly to calculate
distances or travel times.
The software is free, the data is free, so now anyone can calculate the
shortest distance or fastest travel time for any number of points in a
network. TdhGISnet runs on Linux and MS Windows and can be downloaded at
TdhGIS.com
TdhGISnet is part of a family of free, multi-platform programs including
TdhGIS, which provides a full range of vector base spatial analysis
functionality and can be downloaded at TdhGIS.com, and TdhCad, which
provides an easy to use vector graphics editing program and can be
downloaded at TdhCad.com.
