Hello Youjin,

Very interesting research topic that has the potential to make an impact.

For community surveys, the OSM-science list is a great place, but it is not
monitored closely by a lot of people. Generally, announcing research
projects on large lists, like talk is discouraged, and so is contacting
individual mappers on a large scale. My recommendation would be to set up a
Wiki page for your research project (or describe it on your OSM profile
page, user diary etc.) where you explain WHAT and HOW you are planning to
do. This will increase trust and community members will be more likely to
participate. There is also the question of disseminating your results.
Since OSM is an open project and many members are firm believers of open
data/software/science, etc., generally they dislike if research done on OSM
(e.g. involving users) is published behind a paywall. So if you have any
ideas as to where you will be presenting your research, and if it will be
open access or not, that would also be helpful to disclose.

As for distributing your survey, apart from OSM-science, I would also
announce it on OSM Weekly (https://weeklyosm.eu/) and casual communication
channels such as Slack, Discord, forums, Twitter, etc. These are all
monitored by a lot of people so hopefully you will reach enough number of
people who's willing to participate.

I hope this helps.

Best,
Levente
