[Strategic] introductions

Hi Guys,

I'm Nick, I've been involved with OpenStreetMap since 2006 as a mapper, coder, organiser of things like mapping parties and the SOTM conferences and as a board member in 08-09. In my day job I'm head of products at CloudMade - where I am involved with a lot of strategic planning, leading our strategic product planning. I'd like to bring some of my past experience within and beyond OpenStreetMap to help OSM and the OSM-F achieve its full potential of creating a free map of the world.

I think key to doing this is to decide where we want to get to and then work backwards from there. An important part of that should be building a community consensus around around anything we do as a working group. I'm seen groups from the inside and the outside that have not gained enough of a consensus and have not communicated clearly enough with other OSM and OSM-F membership - definitely something to get right from day one.

Look forward to getting started :-)

I've had the opportunity to discuss the issues facing OSMF organizationally with many, and fortunately received offers to help. Glad we're hear to work on this together.
