[Tagging] musings on landuse

yup,
There are 2 meanings of 'landuse'.
The literal meaning of 'what exactly is this land used for' and..
The classification meaning of 'what does the city/township/legal
classification of this physical area permit.
An aditional word can be 'land use zone'
The cities laws state that in an 'urban residential landuse zone, you
cannot have a 'landuse industrial zone' since the area is alloted to
have residential dwellings.


It doesnt say if trees are permitted or if its parkland.


so in osm-land, there is the tag grouping called 'land use' as well as
the specific tag of 'landuse'.
Specific tags can and should be changed to say something as
descriptive as possable.


in some cases, 2 tags are needed, but in most cases, 1 tag can
describe the situaltion being mapped.
