hy, my opinion:
* CASA DE GOVERNOR PÍO PICO - former residence of the last Mexican governor
-> a special persons? then: historic=memorial und memorial:type=plate
* BLACK STAR CANYON INDIAN VILLAGE SITE
-> a building? then: information=board with board_type=historic
* STAGECOACH INN - a historic inn
-> a building/hotel? then: information=board with board_type=historic
* JUANA BRIONES, PIONEER SETTLER OF YERBA BUENA
-> a prominent woman: historic=memorial und memorial:type=plate

> According to the OpenStreetMap Wiki, historic=memorial is for "remembering
> special persons, peoples lost their lives in the world wars." A historical
> marker is for more than just people who lost their lives in a war.
> A few examples:
> * CASA DE GOVERNOR PÍO PICO - former residence of the last Mexican
> governor of California.
> * BLACK STAR CANYON INDIAN VILLAGE SITE
> * STAGECOACH INN - a historic inn
> * JUANA BRIONES, PIONEER SETTLER OF YERBA BUENA
> I am open to changing the definition of historic=memorial to include all
> historical markers and not just memorial to individuals. Would that be a
> better option?
