Don't forget the opposite!

One occasionally sees a water tap of some sort, which is explicitly
*not*potable
*not* drinkable.

The International Plumbing Code (IPC) section 608.8 covers marking of
non-potable sources.
Curiously the requirement is in English. Have a read:
http://publicecodes.cyberregs.com/icod/ipc/2009/icod_ipc_2009_6_par133.htm

Recent amendments to 608.8.2 specify the use of purple colored piping for
such systems with rain and graywater.

---------------

The same issue comes up as with potable: the water is non-potable according
to whom?
Does the sign explicitly describe a hazard with the water, or simply state
that the authority has
not certified the water.
