[Tagging] tagging two former church locations, with the same name but unrelated to each other

Hi,

"> How do I tag two different historical churches with the same name, but
not the same identity, that are located a few miles apart?

different objects in OSM, same name tag. There’s no problem, besides maybe
other mappers thinking there is something fishy
"

"> Would adding "established <x>" and "established <y>" as part of the names
of the two different historical locations be an appropriate technique, with
the third node for the current church's location also having the
"established <y>" as part of the name? I would like to have some way to
indicating the linkage.

you should/could add the start_date tag. Enhancing the name doesn’t seem
right, but it could go into the description tag as well."

+1 on both

Aditionally, you want to add an explanation for future mappers in note=*.
Example: "A church with identical name a few miles to the west but distinct.
Both exist. This one was founded in 1982." It's easy and goes a long way
towards clearing the confusion. Notes are great, really: You can write
anything, without being restricted by tagging!

If you feel that regular users should be able to get this information too,
use description=*. The only difference is that note=* is for mappers and
hidden from users, while description=* should be visible to users in object
details.

Best,
Vladimir
