Hi, welcome to [tagging].
You don't have to prefix "RFC / Request for comments" for a simple
question. Usually, you can write something (like you did) and after some
discussion if it turns out there isn't already an established way to tag
what you want to tag, you would make a proposal page for the feature in the
wiki and set it to "draft" (while you work on it). When you believe your
page has reached a good state, you write a "RFC: ...." here with a link to
the page, so that other people can comment, and change to status to RFC.
After some reasonable time (at least 2 weeks) and eventually some
modifications, you can decide to open "voting" upon your proposal.
After voting is finished (again at least 2 weeks), you will do post-vote
cleanup (count votes, change status, eventually create a feature definition
page, from where you also link to your proposal).
