I think people may be worried that if they go in & edit *The Wiki *:-),  based
on their perception of the mailing list consensus, then they may be
starting an edit war with others who either didn't agree, or don't belong
to the list, so aren't aware of the discussion?

& also, as has been mentioned many times, the wiki is *not* the most
user-friendly thing to edit :-(
