Bends are mapped by the river being bendy. :)  I assume you mean we have
no way of naming them.  From a quick look at wikipedia, it seems they
may be navigationally important.

Another one that comes to mind is when this "pool" in the river is a

Yeah, we probably need something on top of however we decide to map pools
to indicate if they are usable for swimming.

It's all getting too complicated!
