At least where I'm from (Illinois, United States), golf cart is the common
term. I'm also a golfer.

The original article I cited to name the value "cart_path" came from this
site. It's also common terminology.

It seems popular in Europe, as you've stated.

I'm not sure how I would go about fixing this since "car_path" is too vague
and we already have the "golf_cart" Key.
I guess "golf_car_path" and "golf_car" are options.

Changing "golf_cart" might not be a problem either since it barely has any
uses <https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/golf_cart>.
