I've done a few of those. Got a lot of push-back on the discussion
page for one of them, but I think that was somebody with a grudge
because I'd commented on a proposal pointing out flaws.

They are not all military. Some are civilian.

I don't see it generally applicable to warehouses. Maybe in
some specialized cases.

Yeah, I see the wiki page also says that. It really disturbs the
flow. It sticks out as being a later interpolation, possibly better
placed on the discussion page.
I see train depots, container depots and bus depots as depots.
I don't see pushing these into landuse=commercial or landuse=industrial
as gaining much. A bus depot isn't commercial in the sense of people
show up there to buy buses. A bus depot isn't industrial, as in buses
are manufactured there. A bus depot is a storage area.
If anything, I'd say that commercial and industrial are overused
for many things that don't really belong there.
As far as the civilian aircraft boneyards are concerned, many
are essentially garbage dumps. A few aircraft may get sold
if the aviation business picks up, but most will not. A few
boneyards are related to recycling operations, but most are
not. Most of these are garbage dumps but people don't
want to admit it because then recycling legislation would
kick in.
