I agree with this one in principle.
What worries me about it is that I imagine that people may get overly rigid
about it.
I'm not positive that I remember which of these are signed (they're all
marked on the ground in some way, but the markings may not give the names:
The Town of Halcott https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/3165237
The hamlet of Halcott Center https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/158846157
The New York City watershed recreation units named 'Halcott Unit'
https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/6304749. 'Halcott Center Unit'
https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/6304748, and 'Halcott Center North
Unit' https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/802321785.
The Halcott Mountain Wild Forest https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/428117879
Halcott Mountain https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/357563196
Halcottt Center Road https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/12869622
All of these are the proper names for the objects in question. I don't want
to find myself arguing with some pedant that unless I can present evidence
that each one is signed in the field, they're not entitled to proper names.
(In particular, the only indication that I've ever seen in the field that
Halcott Mountain is so named is that its name is written on the cover of
the climbers' log book cached at the summit.)
This sort of thing is not uncommon; it should be entirely unsurprising that
the Slide Mountain Wilderness https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/6362994
has Slide Mountain as its most prominent feature
https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/357602650, or that the Plotter Kill
https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/204869020 flows through the Plotter Kill
Preserve, https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/190452078, which also contains
Upper https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/2148464839 and Lower
https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/2148464876 Plotter Kill Falls. The
stream has also lent its name to the local fire brigade:
https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/375412734. I don't believe that the
stream itself is signed anywhere, nor are the two waterfalls.

I've had enough experience with people on the 'tagging' list querying or
outright denying my local knowledge that I'm not nearly as convinced that
the 'just an example' assertion will be believed moving forward.
