I completely disagree. It is not because a member of the community is
not a specialist in a certain niche that he should not vote. In the
contrary, we should encourage them to vote to make it clear to the
specialist who wrote the proposal that it lacks a clear decent
definition or quality so that it is clear to a non-specialist mapper how
and when to map these things.
It is also clear as an out stander or non-specialist that the one who
wrote the proposal and calls himself a specialist does not agree with
specialists from other parts of the world how this is called. Either by
cultural, historical, scientific or whatever background.
We are here to try to map the world in a unified way, not aimed at a
specific speciality, but if we can, to provide guidance for specialised
applications, enjoying the support of specialists but without
discriminating or wanting to support the general concept that OSM is a
map for everyone, cartographer or not, mountaineer or not, specialist or
not.
I strongly suggest you respect other peoples opinion, other specialist
opinion which clearly exist here, and as a specialist find common ground
and if necessary a compromise.
As an outstander I felt to try to help you guys to find this common
ground or compromise, it can be revealing and helpĀ you to find it.
