Hm... I guess this would mean identifying all data elements people now put into the names; defining tags for all these elements; defining model route types; define a standardized display format for each model route type. Not something that evolves by itself... and then, getting people to use it on their precious and unique routes, knowing the result will differ from what the operators and eebsite designers do...

I fear this plan is not going to make it any time soon in the OSM jungle.
