[Tagging] hiking route from= and to= tags

How does adding from & to ensure the route will be updated to maintain 
its accuracy?

How does adding from & to protect the name tag from misuse?


OSM is geospatially aware. From & To add no real value. In examples I've 
seen they're far to vague. to=London, for example. To be of any use my 
local NCN should be tagged to=just by the gate, around the back of the 
industrial unit. However as I stated, it's not required as that can been 
seen by looking at the route on the actual *map*.
