Sorry to push this issue, but I really want to know how it helps, because
besides hiking along them, I actually maintain physical markers for routes.
Doesn't the fact that the route goes there indicate there are markers? That
is how you know it's a route. If the positions of the markers changes
enough to change the route, then change the route. If the route doesn't
change, only the position of markers, who cares? Only the maintainers, and
they are more worried about visibility lines and the direction of the
points of the arrows then about geolocation.

Ok. But again, how does this help me, as a maintainer? Even if all the
markers are in the route relation (which I seriously doubt will ever
happen).
