  Well, "winning by argument" does not work, because too complex
arguments are simply ignored and there is no space/time/attention for
a simpler but longer explanation of complex things.

  So what could be the solution?

  Introducing some kind of open OpenStreetMap GIS/Carto/IT university/lectures?
  Creating and showcasing quality products?
