I never did, but I’ve kept my mouth shut all this time.

Not the best place to be (few will find this rewarding) but not the worst, either (as this will not prevent the noted improvement).

A gigantic +1.  Ever since I saw Wikidata values / links begin to be added as an OSM tag, I have thought “wait, what actually warrants that any of this is true / accurate…?”  Knowing that for that to be true, I must be sucked into the Wikidata world and made to understand it, and conform to it, and I didn’t want to, as I didn’t join OSM to do that, and I don’t think I must, and it is neither fun nor rewarding (directly to me, like OSM mapping already is).  I have no obligation to “manage” or “warrant” Wikidata verifiability, and I don’t plan on starting anytime soon.  So, yeah, there is a fairly fundamental breakdown of the value found in that tagging (in my mind, and I believe others, as well, considering my resonance with Joseph articulating this).
