It should be noted that with a partecipation of 7 voters the proposal would have been rejected anyway regardless of no-votes
Regarding the meaning of subject:wikidata, there is no evidence that the tag should be used as pretended by the opposing voters.
There is the key artwork_subject which is used in the way you proposed here https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:artwork_subject
There is also subject used analogously https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:subject
(has also a reference to wikidata:subject)
And the only definition for subject:wikidata is here
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:wikidata
which does not seem to prevent or discourage use as proposed by you:
“ The subject of a statue, artwork or memorial (a person, event, geographical feature, ...). In some rare cases where the subject is plural, values will be separated be semicolon. ”
It doesn’t say it must be specifically referring to an individual instance and cannot be used for a concept (e.g. “peace”, “friendship”, “nature”, “anonymous soldier”, etc.)
As a minor nitpick, the part about plural doesn’t make sense, “subject=birds;”?
Cheers Martin
