Although a tourist is unlikely to leave home without their cards, my
usual checklist is
1. Passport
2. Credit Card
Anything else I've forgotten I can buy.
Back before the Euro was a thing I would commonly find places that took
cards if all I was going to do in a country was to buy lunch, as it was
too much hassle to change cash and end up with a pile of shracknell
that cannot be changed back.
