In Denmark there are both signs and route marking on the asphalt for cycle super 
highways.

Motorways are always signed and there are many roads that can only be used by 
motor_vehicles that are not motorways.

On the other hand the distinction between e.g., tertiary and unclassified highways is 
not based on road signs.

And in practice routers base their routing not just on physical properties, but also 
on classifications.
