imho the main issue isn't that it's splitted
the main issue is that a 10+ message doesn't end with a summary with :
arguments for/against
actions taken
whether it's an email or a wiki talk page, it doesn't matter, just put 
the url at the end of the wiki edit comment or other relevant place
