Hi All,
I would like to add a value board_type=rules to the https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:board_type wiki page.
The description would read: "Information on rules, guidelines and/or disclaimers"
Examples:
https://osm.fit.vutbr.cz/fody/files/32602.jpg
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:TTTC_visitors%27_rules_notice_20211016.jpg
This type of board is somewhat similar to board_type=notice and board_type=welcome_sign but - at least in my understanding - it is clearly distinct from both.
I believe that many mappers (including myself) usually do not map boards of these types. This is probably also the reason why board_type=rules is relatively low on the taginfo list, even though it is very common in reality.
The primary aim is to offer a board_type selection for boards that are already mapped and that are lacking this detail. For example, members of the openstreetmap.cz association run an on-line app to collect photos of guideposts, maps and some types of information boards, excluding the types mentioned above. The photos are then displayed as a map layer. For this purpose it is quite important to provide mappers with a list of fitting board_type values.
I am aware that the list of board_type values includes "user defined", so I do not need to seek approval to use a particular value. I just would like to make sure that it is OK to add that value to the list on the wiki page.
Regards, VladaC
