it's indeed always a bad idea to change the meaning of an existing tag
but the current meaning is very strange : =yes is the generic value
that should inclue all others values.
so it's a nonsens that exit=yes currently implie locked=no
while some other values doesn't imply it, foe exemple emergency exit are 
sometimes locked, for example in schools and shops, with sometimes 
disastrous consequences

so i thinks the correct meaning is :
exit=yes : you can use it to exit
exit=no you can't use it to exit
and some more spécific value (exit=emergency, exit=main maybe 
exit=not-locked, ...)
