Sorry, you haven't said that.

Just, this discussion about medium and content seems to be a little far-fetched.
What do you see on the pole? A qr_code, or a map. Map that. Keep it simple. 
Then, if it's a qr_code and you have something to decode, then why not mapping the content behind.
