+1, I see it as a tag for a sports facility including pitches, grounds, parking, restaurant, swimming pool etc.
It could offer several sports or just one, e.g. tennis, but not golf (because golf has its own ;) )

hm, it may not be written explicitly, but somehow I assumed it is for commercial operations (or also run by a nonprofit or a public operator) but usually not for school or university sports grounds (around here). The latter are simply represented as sports pitches and facilities on school or university grounds.
