Wasn't thinking about your sort of drawn-out, forever, campaigns :-)
We're in the midst of a federal election atm, but the whole thing from
announcement to election day is only 5 weeks! (Hardly enough to even find
an office to rent, let alone map it! :-))
Yes, some people will decide months / years out from the next election that
they will be running, so have an office set up, but they're not that common.
But yes, for those, office=political_campaignwould work.
