And I would not use Geofabrik services in this case either, not as the only
option.

I am "political", I happen to think communities, that can stand on their own,
are good. And thats the goal I work towards. And yes, that sometimes means
taking an option thats not as good in the short run, but hopefully better in
the long run. Thats why we have OSM and not Google Maps.

But this is my personal opinion and my personal goal, I know others have other
ideas, and I see the tradeoffs. I am trying to not force anybody down either
path. So you are all welcome to run your Taginfo instance they way you want. :-)
And I support giving the user an option to use the server they like. (I just
don't gave the time to implement it at the moment.

Thats not likely as the OSM admins have been insisting that OSMF services do not
rely on any outside services. But maybe they made an exception.
