I'm happy to be convinced otherwise, but that wasn't what I was
suggesting, in fact I was outlining why it seems to be a problem and
what should be fixed, rather than changing what I saw as logical
because some other software isn't coded to cope with it properly.

Again, I'm talking specifically about this issue, and in fact I didn't
even know when I tagged such roundabouts I was doing it wrong
(according to the OSM wiki) I just did it as I saw the most efficient
way possible, I didn't see the need to add extra nodes at the time
just to have adjoining roads connect to a roundabout at slight
offsets.

However OSM is full of opinionated people and it's unlikely that
beyond a core set of features you will be able to get everyone to work
in the same way, and for good reason by the way, the Australian
tagging guidelines was written because I can only assume local
differences with the UK were great enough to deem it was needed.
