[talk-au] highway=safe_t_cam in Australian Tagging Guidelines

Hi,

We might be reinventing the wheel or at least part of it

https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Relation:enforcement is an approved feature that covers point to point speed cameras. I can see it in use in Melbourne for single point speed/red light cameras. Probably better to use something global than invent something Australia specific

G'day Mateusz,

There's at least 24 Safe-T-Cam locations in NSW. If they are on dual carriageways, then double for nodes on both the directions. https://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/documents/business-industry/heavy-vehicles/safe-t-cam-network-map.pdf (confirm licencing before map use).

I believe that these now also do speed camera duties too. They would have to kate a photo of the rear of the vehicle due to motorcycles only having a rear plate.

I'm not sure how many operate in SA.

In Victoria a similar network rolled out 4 years ago, but it appears to be operated by NHVR nationally rather than VicRoads at the state level. https://www.roadsonline.com.au/new-cameras-to-monitor-heavy-vehicles/

Perhaps a new "Safe-T-Cam" proposal should be for say:

highway:hgv=fatigue_management_camera
or
enforcement:hgv=fatigue_management_camera

Cheers,
..Brendan

has following text:

"highway=safe_t_cam Use this tag to mark the position of the NSW and SA Safe - T - Cam system"

This tag is used exactly 2 times:
https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/tags/?key=highway&value=safe_t_cam

Is seems possible that this recommendation should be amended/removed
- or more of this features should be mapped
(spotted during unrelated wiki editing)
