[OSM-talk-be] large forest covered areas

Hi,

does anyone know how to best represent large forest covered areas, such as 
shown in http://maverick.dynalias.net:10080/OSM/schermafdruk2.png ?

I was thinking along the lines of creating a large rectangular forest area, 
and cutting out holes for the non-forest sections, as described in 
http://www.irule.be/bvh/c++/merkaartor/walk/create-area.html . As the outline 
is rectangular, this would allow to stitch them together seamlessly later, 
and to be rendered without any annoying internal boundary lines, at least in 
theory, because the parts fit perfectly together.

Does anyone have experience/opinions with this approach, or have other 
suggestions?
