That's more or less how I imagine things myself. We still have to agree
on a starting time. Does 10 sound OK? Or a bit later? 10h30?
The stuff that's not needed for actual mapping can probably stay behind
in the Keizer Karel. Is somebody volunteering to stay behind there? (We
can also work in shifts, of course) It's not that I don't trust the
owner, but it's not like I actually know him either. He was kind enough
to present his own portable for us to use, though, so I guess he's all
right. Installing java on it and josm shouldn't be too hard. I'll make
sure I bring it on a USB stick. Personally, I don't think I'll be
bringing my portable.

I'm planning to bring my cell phone, for taking pictures. A few days
before the party starts, I'll private mail everybody who showed an
interest my phone number.
I have a data logger ADAPT AD-850 that I can lend to somebody. I will be
using an IPAQ with NoniGPSplot on it. This allows to at tags, but I
prefer to make photographs.

Oh and, I have never been to a mapping party either, let alone organize
one. But it seemed like a good idea to try and get together. For me it's
less important that all of Mechelen gets done, but more important that
we exchange experiences and how we do things.

See you there,

Polyglot
