This was just an 'experiment' of mine. While mapping I'm taking a lot of
photographs and I wanted to enter as much useful information from them
into OSM. Knowing where the speed limit changes seemed useful to me.
Having an idea of how far around my city the city limits stretch also
seemed like a challenge. At one point I have even been considering to go
from one F1 sign to the next. This never happened since I have been busy
enough mapping the newborn cycle node network.
Anyway, I needed a way to tag them and I simply selected a border leven
in josm. Nothing seemed to have been decided about it and I didn't feel
like waiting for many months until it was. Once a good decision has been
made, I'm sure it can all be converted towards it, either by myself or
by somebody else. Or they can be deleted outright, if they don't fit.
Hopefully the nodes I created where I found the F1 signs can be kept.
When I was in Holland (Esbeek), I briefly looked at how they mapped the
city limits, but that way of doing it didn't seem very useful.
Cheers,
Polyglot
