[OSM-talk-be] Merge parts of cycle path?

Hello,

I recently started adding detail to OSM in the neighbourhood of
Lokeren/Eksaarde (Oost-Vlaanderen). One of the reasons for joining is
that I'm going to use the OSM data on my Garmin Edge 800 (through the
OpenFietsMap project).

One of my edits was updating the metadata of the "Oude Spoorweg", an
old railway converted to a cycle and pedestrian path.

Currently, this "Oude Spoorweg" is drawn in a few segments. It was
like that when I started updating the metadata. Some of these segments
are related to a local or regional cycle route. As far as I know, the
selected segments are correctly attached to the cycle routes. What
would happen with these tags if I would join the segments into a
complete single cycle path from Lokeren to Eksaarde?
