[OSM-talk-be] Merge parts of cycle path?

Hi Ringo,

Welcome here.

If you join the segments to one way you would break up the relations...
There are some good reasons to break up one way in different segments
- if there are differences in the segments (like a road that is partly one
way, has other surface, ...)
- if there are relations involved. These can be cycle or pedestrian routes,
busroutes, ... or restrictions like no left/right turn and so on. It usually
means splitting up a way into (sometimes a lot) individual segments.

There also is a 'practical' reason and a 'rendering' reason to split up very
long ways.
- practical reason: for editing it may be easier to work and to 'see what
you are working on' if a way is not 10 km long
- rendering: the name of a street mostly is just marked on the map once for
every 'way' so with very long 'streets' you might not see the name of it
anywhere on the rendered map.

So take care before you join them. Especially if there are relations on it.
Basically there mostly is no reason to join them to one route.
