[Talk-ca] HD_WATERBODY importation didn't work

(Yup, Michael Gilbert had todo that for the Provincial boundaries file, on
his 1st attempt at importing the files.)

We should be cc:'ing talk-ca list so others can chime in on our discussions.

In short, Yan is now helping out converting the GeoBaseNHN2osm script so
that it runs in french, as well as making it run on Ibuntu.

Working on the 1st trial of waterbody, Yan discovered that this file is
rather big, and so the import of the changeset takes a really long time.
(and it cut out at various times)

My solution is to be going at it really slowely, by only selecting a few
lakes/ water areas at a time. (with more people working on other sections,
it will get done).
However, the downside is that with more people working on it, the greater
chance of errors.
But of course, just like with GeoBase2osm, as more people are working on it,
the greater the overall script import gets. Even if it requires
re-processing of the 1st imported area.

That's also why i have avoided importing any more lakes/waterbodies from the
CanVec set (not just because canvec doesn't show the names of the water
areas)

There is the test OSM server where we can import this data, as a trial (i
forget what the url is for it though)

The other reason that i choose to use the slow import method, is that i dont
understand PostGIS, nor do i understand how to run perl or python
scripting.
Therefore, although my manual method of selecting a few water areas at a
time is slow. It does ensure that there are no duplicates.

So right now, my main focus is to be manually importing the GeoBaseNHN data
for the Vancouver Island area, that way, i can see what the best way to
import the data is.

Anyway, fortunatly for this file that Yan is refering too, i haven't yet
really explored.
So a BIG Hi-5! for the work done so far! :)

So if anyone can expand further, it would be appreciated.

How did you (Michel Gilbert) handle this for the Province boundary file?

I also want to know, as all of the 1st import of Protected areas didn't
work. (that's also why im using the slow copy/paste method.
http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/changeset/1496704 all the nodes need to
be removed, as im working on the better version (
