Thanks,I do think that "TBD" (to be determined) would be better than 'n/a'
... so 'TBD in OSM". As what i was doing was simply guessing at what it
'could be'. So for those items that are still TBD, i should note them.

Cool, i wont touch that chart until your done. As there's still lots of
fixing on the other charts too.

I checked the GeoBase NHN (downloaded an area, viewed with JUMP) and looking
at the feature catelogue, i can see that yes i can make a similar program
using shp-to-osm to convert the shape files, using only the data that is
needed.

What the original concern (and the favorite of GeoBase) is the frequency of
updates. I can make a list of all the features which are and are not
available in CanVec. ... I presume that it is all from the same source. So
the preference would naturally be the latest & greatest info.

The NHN organizes the tiles in funky shapes rather than strict NTS tiles,
getting boarders along rivers and such.
Using the canvec version of the data would make it a bit easier, as it (can
be imported) at the same time as all the other features.

Hopefully we will hear from the rest of the team about this, but for the
time being, i will continue as i am doing, and have a folder 'geobase'
created when running the script, to handle all the 'is in geobase' items.
They need to be tagged anyway :-)

Cheers,
