Not that I know of, but there's a way (tile by tile, unfortunately) to
ask it to rerender.

http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Slippy_Map#Mapnik_tile_rendering
describes a method by which you can check to see when a tile (at a given
zoom level) was last rendered, and ask for it to be re-rendered. If a
large area needs to be done, it would have to be done by a script. I
had an area that didn't re-render after a week, and I couldn't figure it
out. That time, I changed a few nodes, and the system seemed to notice,
and re-did the whole area. YMMV on both methods.

Seems that things fixed themselves in the time it took me to get around
to replying (excellent). But hopefully this info is useful to someone.
