From an observer perspective. In the areas I've entered CanVec v6 seems the next version of GeoBase. A lot of roads are the similar but CanVect has a lot more detailed points than the currently imported GeoBase. Ie geobase import has a winding roads as a set of inverted triangles were CanVec has rounded edges.
But that's just the areas I've done
As for the official difference, I'll wait too for that response.
