Hi Patrick,

With some more thought. I downloaded the Garmin MapSource GPS Map from
http://www.gpssledmaps.com/maps/on.php and contacted the author. (I have
done so a couple years ago) and recieved the GPX trackaias i need them for
the national Snowmobile trail & network) But i would also like these
pubmitted to the OpenStreetMap project (if they contain date/time &
elevation data stamps)

It would be great if you could promote this idea to all of the Snowmobile
Trails Orgaizations all over Canada as well as the Quad Assocaitions all
over Canada. And the Equestrian Trails Associations and the Hiking Trails
groups & Mountain Biking Groups & Canoeing/kayaking groups, and dogsledding
groups. Of simply making the gpx tracks (with elevation data & date/time
stamps) available.
Even if its just on their own organizations website, thats fine too. (and
encouraged as MANY people know what a GPX file is, and how to use it)

We (the OpenStreetMap commity) request that these tracks are published to
the Public domain. And lists the disclamer. (something like this, perhaps
someone else can help re-word & repost?)

"The GPX tracks that are available on this website, are published in public
domain, and free to use by anyone, for any purpose. Much care has been
given to ensure that these tracks are accurate as of the date published, we
(the organization), cannot claim any liability for the accuracy &
completeness of the GPX tracks. "

also

"The GPX tracks that are available on this website, are free to use for
enhancement of the OpenStreetMap.org project. We have took care to get the
trail labels correct, however, as conditions on the ground do change all the
time. We encourage the track users to go out there on the trails, and
re-survey the condition. And share back the changes to the OpenStreetMap
project by submitting questions to the talk-ca at openstreetmap.org discussion
list, on how to edit the map. As well as meet other regional OpenStreetMap
contributors.

Thanks,
Happy Trails,
