One option would be to split the outer way, and share an edge between
the two multipolygons. This is quite a bit more work but makes it
easier to detect adjacency. A renderer could be designed to not
render lines where two wooded polygons are adjacent by simply checking
if a way is part of more than one wooded multipolygon, but the
individual multipolygons would still be manageable.
