It also looks as if the US styles is used in some parts of Canada close
to the border, and vice versa. See southeastern Quebec for example
(Sherbrooke region). It is even obvious at lower zoom levels: closer to
the border the road density seems suddenly much higher (tertiary roads
are shown).
MapQuest could (and should) use more accurate polygons to clip the
rendering style. Although I still appreciate MapQuest's contribution /
attention to OSM, I can't leave this unmentioned ;)
