I tried zooming in an area I'm interested in and at first I couldn't go 
closer than http://open.mapquest.ca/link/7-Xz7Yj9OU.  Then I saw the uk 
tiling server kick in, then some other server and about 10 minutes later

I wonder what kind of style they use ?  What you see there are 
superimposed soccer fields.  At least I can see them (which is extermely 
hard with the "regular" OSM skins) but there are no labels.  One day 
I'll find out about how to really style OSM :-)  One neat thing is 
address range : looks good in my area !
