Does that matter, though? You're referring to an agreement made in the
past. CanVec data are now provided under the OGL-CA licence, which has a
very similar attribution clause to the OGL-UK licence (please compare
'em if you're not sure). The OGL licence (imperfect as it is) has been
deemed to be compatible with OSM's licence.

The tags don't matter; attribution is in the *© OpenStreetMap
Contributors* link. Aren't we supposed to remove the NRCan tags if we
modify data on the ground, or add in our own additional data?
