Hello
I'm following up this proposal as I've heard nothing for a month. Is it
being considered, or has it been rejected or has it languished with no
action? If you need any further information please use my contact details
from the original message attached. I'd appreciate some response, positive
or negative, rather than just silence.
Regards
Brian Prangle

Dear Sirs
Mappa-mercia <http://www.mappa-mercia.org> is the local chapter of
OpenStreetMap <http://www.openstreetmap.org> , a crowd-sourced free and
openly-licensed digital map of the planet. Several hundred local volunteers
have collaborated over the past 5 years in producing a very detailed map of
our city and region. We pride ourselves on capturing changes to the road
network and built environment as near as possible to when they happen. One
of our unique impacts is taking text-based local authority data and
producing a winter gritting map <http://mappa-mercia.org/gritting-map.shtml>
With such a large project as the new City Centre Interchange we would like
to collaborate with you so that we can make these changes as they occur and
have an up to date map of the city centre available to the world. We are
already watching your news update bulletins which at this early stage of
the project don't involve map changes.
We are particularly anxious to ensure that re-positioning of bus stops is
accurately and speedily edited on our map, particularly since we had the
NaPTAN database made available to us sometime ago by the DfT, to encourage
crowdsourcing participation in data accuracy and visualisation
I look forward to a mutually beneficial collaboration with you, where you
can claim a unique aspect to the project: collaborating with your public
constituency producing a deliverable outcome i.e an online map showing
changes simultaneously with on-the ground completion.
