google maps doesn't feature any footpaths!
that's what got me into OSM a few years ago. Sorry to prolly be off-message but I'm happy with Google Maps for all things road related (aside from the small errors it has), but I do like OSM for it's footpaths as I'm not aware of anything else that does that, and I've noticed tons of footpaths missing from Ordnance Survey (maybe not official ones, but traversable ones nonetheless) .
What *I* would quite like is something to import woods and water, and ideally a tool that would allow me to do it on as small an area as I like (eg 1 mile square), with some-kind of preview and option to back out.
If it could be done on local scales, then surely that would empower people (provided they could get their heads around what the tool is and how it works).
