MAM is manufacturer specified.
maximum gross weight (MGW) is weight classification specified by the
Government & currently used on road signs.

Imagine the size of the signs if every manufacturer's MAM had to be listed?

If MAM is >7.5 tonnes it would have a MGW class of 18 tonnes.

lorry to a weighbridge for verification.
