I'd suggest no, as my po_box surveys boing back several years have been
mapped exactly the reference on the plate - with the D suffix if it is
there, and additional tags such as box type, royal cypher, and more
recently two versions of "Priority Postbox" tagging.
Going through survey images again to remove "fixme" would actually
create work, not a better map.
As a part-time armchair mapper who also surveys "ground truth", be aware
that checking tools don't allow for exceptions like:
* TD15 27D which really does have a Scottish Crown in Duddo, England (
https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/6658820889 )
* TD15 67D which really is a "D" box with a PRIORITY POSTBOX label (
https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/9186924263 ).
These few exceptions to otherwise insightful rules are exactly why
automated edits need extreme care, and why survey can be so interesting!
Happy Mapping (both inside and outside :-) ),
James
