[Talk-GB] Is it useful to tag material=* of stiles?

I usually add material to stiles. It is useful contextual information,
although the user will need to know something about the area to make best
use of it:
* In the Peak District & Yorkshire Dales where drystone walls abound, a
typical stepover stile will be over a stone wall; whereas a wooden stile
will usually be a one or two steps along the lines of the relevant British
Standard. The latter type is much easier for anyone with limited mobility
or issues with balance.
* Squeezers made of stone are likely to have stone base requiring a slight
step up, whereas when made of wood they merely narrow the path.
* Kissing gates made of wood are more likely to be older style ones with a
"V" profile seen from above & unsuitable for wheelchairs etc. Rectangular
or circular metal enclosures are likely to be much better.
Modern stiles & kissing gates which accord with the British Standard will
almost certainly be made of wood for stiles, and aluminium for kissing
gates. I suspect few squeezers are added to paths these days.
Hybrid stiles such as the added squeezer in your picture do exist. I have
pictures of several hard-to-classify stiles between Castleton & Hope in
Derbyshire. A typical example is a squeezer where a sheet of slate has been
added across the gap so that one has to step over (presumably the squeezer
was too wide for slim sheep). In most cases one can choose the relevant tag
by contemplating the action required to cross the stile.
